Denise Richards awarded temp custody of Charlie Sheen's twins

In this day and age where it is not uncommon to see exes in San Antonio, Texas battling over issues related to child custody and support, it is refreshing to see a couple that is working together for the benefit of their children.

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen may have undergone a rocky relationship and divorce, but they seem to have come together on child custody and support issues. Richards is currently even caring for Sheen’s two children he had with his ex-wife Brooke Mueller. The twins are, after all, half siblings to Richards’s children.

Richards is caring for the children while Mueller is receiving treatment for drug addiction. With Sheen’s approval, Richards appeared in court recently and was awarded temporary custody of the twins. When Sheen offered to give Richards extra child support, she turned him down, saying that she had the finances to be able to provide for their needs.

Mueller reportedly would like her brother to take care of her children and even went as far as to have her lawyer go to court and ask that Richards’s temporary guardianship be taken away. The reason she did this is not necessarily that she thinks Richards is incapable of caring for her children, but because she is supposedly afraid of losing child support payments from Sheen.

If you are involved in a child custody battle, you would be well advised to speak with a family practice attorney who can advise you on your case. With so much on the line, you certainly do not want to try to go it alone.
