Couple still battling over divorce issues 17 years later

In a typical divorce proceeding where children are involved in San Antonio, the issues can usually be resolved in about a year and the divorce can be granted. This allows both partners to move on and begin healing and helping their children to do the same. A prolonged divorce can not only have devastating effects on the two people involved, but on their children as well.

This seems to be the case for a couple who have been feuding for 17 years over the legalities of their divorce. In fact, in 2002, a court wrote that the two were engaging in behavior that was harmful to the welfare of their children. The two had been married for 10 years when the divorce was filed. They have two children together, ages 17 and 20.

Among the things the couple is continuing to argue over is the custody of the children and money issues. The two were evidently so contentious with each other that the divorce took five years to complete.

Despite judges saying that the two, who are law professors, took advantage of the system, the man said that he was only concerned with being a good parent and that he did not do anything out of spite or revenge.

If you are facing a divorce, it is important to have a knowledgeable divorce attorney on your side. Doing so can help you avoid the hassle and pitfalls of the process, and, unlike this couple, you may be able to speed the process along.
