Clint Eastwood's wife files for divorce

Although no one gets married with a plan of splitting up later on, unfortunately many marriages end up in divorce. Divorce can be very difficult in many instances in San Antonio, as couples have to consider many important decisions, including child support and custody, if children are involved, property division and spousal support.

The wife of movie star and director Clint Eastwood has filed for divorce from her husband. Dina Eastwood cited irreconcilable differences as the reason she wants to end the couple’s 17-year marriage. Previously in October, Mrs. Eastwood had filed papers for legal separation but later withdrew those papers. As part of the current filings, Mrs. Eastwood asked for physical custody of the couple’s 16-year-old daughter along with joint legal custody.

The couple met in 1993 and was married in 1996. According to court documents, the couple does have a prenuptial agreement in place. However, Mrs. Eastwood is still asking her husband for spousal support. According to reports, property rights will still have to be determined. At this time, there have been no reports of a response from Mr. Eastwood, including whether or not an attorney has made any counter-filings in his behalf.

Divorce is never simple and it can be even more complicated when high-assets are involved. Although not everyone who decides to divorce will have the same circumstances as Mr. and Mrs. Eastwood, anyone who is facing divorce has important decisions to make. Many times couples can’t agree on those decisions, which means a judge will determine what happens. That is why speaking with an experienced divorce attorney is a good idea.
