Proving that you paid your child support

Many of our San Antonio clients come to us here at The Law Office of Roland R. Esparza asking for our help in enforcing their child support agreements. Yet what if you have been making your child support payments, but your ex-spouse says you haven’t? Failure to pay child support can result in fines, the suspension of your drivers’ license, or even jail time. Thus, being able to prove that you have been dutiful in making your payments is vital.

Deployment nearly costs mother the custody of her kids

Military service can be difficult for families in San Antonio, particularly when the serviceman or woman in the family is deployed. Not only does he or she have to be concerned about what’s going on at home, but the family left behind also has to deal with the issues surrounding his or her deployment. Should family issues arise while military men and women are away from home, it is encouraged that they develop a Family Care Plan that stipulates who will take care of the kids while they’re gone. Yet even a plan such as this cannot guarantee that a member of the military may not have to face family law issues while deployed.

Uncontested divorce in Texas

While few in San Antonio go into a marriage thinking that it will end in divorce, statistics show that many will end up facing the reality of it. Indeed, data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that an average of 3.7 of every 1,000 Texas residents divorced every year from 1990-2012. When couples start discussing divorce, a number of concerns can arise. Divorce proceedings can easily turn into a long, ugly process that takes a heavy emotional toll on all of the parties involved. Yet while sometimes circumstances will necessitate contesting a divorce, many couples can typically end their marriages in a relatively fast and easy fashion through an uncontested divorce.

Divorcing during deployment

Through the many years of working with military couples here at The Law Offices of Roland R. Esparza, P.C., we’ve noticed how difficult deployments can be for couples. If you and/or your spouse have made the decision to divorce while he or she is deployed, there are certain things that you need to do to initiate proceedings. Some may be easier to do given the distance between you, while others will be more difficult.
