In the state of Texas, when someone fathers a child, they are typically required to pay child support if they are not married to or are divorced from the child’s mother. This is necessary in order to ensure that the child is taken care of and that his or her needs are met.
The rapper and singer known as Future is faced with making child support payments to two different mothers of his children after the women came out and demanded it. The first woman claimed Future was the father of her son and filed for child support. Future submitted to a DNA test that showed he was the father and was ordered to make child support payments. The mother was evidently not satisfied with the amount of child support she was receiving, because she wants the court to make him pay more each month. She also filed a lawsuit against Future for unpaid child support.
Another woman recently claimed in a lawsuit against Future that he had fathered her child who was born last December. For reasons unknown, she dropped the lawsuit, but the rapper came out and admitted he was the father of the child. He filed documents in court asking for joint custody and that he be recognized as the child’s legal father.
In these two cases, the mothers did the right thing by filing for child support from the father of their children. They will no doubt be able to put the payments to use in helping to raise their children.
