Father awarded custody of daughter living in England

Child custody battles in San Antonio, like anywhere else are almost always a difficult process. Although both parents typically feel that each of them should be awarded custody, there are laws that must be adhered to by both parties.

A young girl is at the center of a child custody battle that spans from Texas all the way to England, as a man fights for the right to have his daughter returned to his custody. Recently, a Collin County judge ruled that the man’s young daughter, whom he hasn’t seen for more than three years, be returned to him in Texas. The custody battle, which has spanned more than three years and two continents, began in 2010 in an England court. Eventually the case reached a Collin County court, where the child once lived.

According to court documents, the girl’s father has been trying to present new evidence that the girl’s mother allegedly abducted her and took her to England. However, the English court would not hear the evidence. The man was recently able to present this new evidence in a Collin County court hearing. That evidence included information from a previous investigation conducted by authorities in Plano in 2010, which outlined email messages that allegedly detailed the girl’s abduction by her mother. After hearing this new evidence the judge ruled in favor of the girl’s father.

Child custody battles are never easy, as there are so many factors to consider and so many emotions involved. Seeking the help of an experienced child custody lawyer is probably a good idea for anyone who finds him or herself in this type of situation.
