Whenever a child in San Antonio is put in the middle of a custody and visitation battle it can be very difficult for that child. That’s why it’s important for both parents to work together to make sure that the child receives the best possible outcome.
A young child continues to be held by authorities in Texas as his father awaits more charges for allegedly taking his young son across Louisiana state lines while he did not have permission to do so. The man is now charged with interfering with the custody of a child. The boy’s father does not have custody of the child. Reportedly, the boy was in his front yard when he went missing.
Authorities say that when they eventually found the boy in Ore City, Texas he was safe. The boy, who is six-years-old, is now in the care of child welfare services in Texas waiting to be reunited with family members back in Louisiana. However, investigators are still gathering more information before they decide to send the boy back to Louisiana. There was no information given regarding any possible visitation rights the father may have had or who the boy’s legal guardian is at this time.
Although it is not clear at this time if there is an ongoing custody battle or visitation rights dispute with this boy and his father, hopefully the best interest of the boy will be the determining factor in where he ends up and who he will live with. Child custody battles can be very difficult and therefore having an experienced family law attorney to help a person with his or her situation can be very effective.
