When a couple with a child or children in San Antonio decides to split up there are often child support issues that must be resolved. Hopefully the parents will agree on a reasonable amount and together they will do their best to provide for their children. However, sometimes it requires a judge to get involved in order to make sure that enough child support is paid.
Television star Jon Cryer is facing a child support battle from his ex-wife as she has asked a court to increase the amount of monthly support her ex-husband should be paying her. According to court papers, Sarah Trigger claims that her custody of the their son recently increased to 50 percent, from four percent previously. Therefore she says that her child support payment should increase as well.
Ms. Trigger is asking the court to increase the monthly payment amount from $8,000 to $90,000. Ms. Trigger clams that by increasing her child support amount she will be better able to provide her son with a “continuity of lifestyle” when he is with her. She claims she needs the extra money to help pay for clothes, a cell phone and summer camp, among other things. Ms. Trigger also claims that Mr. Cryer earns around $2 million a month from his acting job.
Whenever a person is going through a child support battle there are several factors that come into play. Even if one parent is paying child support consistently that doesn’t mean that he or she shouldn’t be paying more. If a person finds him or herself in any kind of child support battle he or she should probably speak with an experienced family law attorney.
