Settlement reached in Rupert Murdoch divorce

No one ever plans to divorce when they get married, but despite everyone’s best intentions divorce is still a common occurrence in San Antonio, as well as the rest of the country. When two people decide to go their separate ways there are usually several details that need to be decided upon. Sometimes it takes the help of the courts to resolve those issues.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his wife Wendi Deng Murdoch have reportedly reached a settlement in their divorce case. The settlement brings to an end the third marriage for Mr. Murdoch after 14 years. The estranged couple avoided a trial by reaching a settlement, the terms of which are to remain confidential. However, the couple did have to reach a custody agreement concerning their two daughters who are 12 and 10.

Meantime, the divorce will not have any affect on Mr. Murdoch’s control or ownership of his media companies. Other than that, according to those who are close to the couple, the settlement was relatively simple due to the fact that they had signed a prenuptial agreement before they married. They reportedly signed two postnuptial agreements, which delineated the division of assets if the couple ever divorced.

In this situation the Murdoch’s were able to come to an agreement without a trial. However, not everyone who divorces is able to come to terms so easily, which means a court has to decide for him or her. If a person is facing divorce he or she should strongly consider consulting with an experienced divorce attorney.
