When a couple in San Antonio decides to go their separate ways there can be many different things to work out. If that couple shares any children together then often the most difficult aspect of a break-up is deciding the custody of those children. If a couple can’t determine custody on their own then a judge will usually have to intervene.
A Bexar County judge has granted temporary custody of a 12-year-old girl to her mother after he determined that it was time to wipe the slate clean in the ongoing custody battle. The judge ordered that the attorneys representing the girl, her mother and child Protective Services all needed to be dismissed, as well the CPS workers who were already involved in the case. Meantime, the attorney who was recently chosen to represent the girl’s father was not dismissed from the case.
According to reports, the girl’s mother was accused of making up health problems for her daughter, a rare psychological disorder called Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. However, the woman denies those claims and says that her daughter has been suffering from the stress of the ongoing custody battle.
Anytime parents take their child custody battle to court the process can be very difficult for all those involved. There are many aspects to child custody battles as well, which means having a knowledgeable child custody lawyer on one’s side can be very important. Anyone in this kind of situation might want to contact a lawyer as soon as possible.
