If the accidents involving semi-trucks that are known to occur in or around San Antonio are known for one thing, it is devastation. These massive vehicles have such destructive potential due to their size that one can almost assume there will be serious injuries to their drivers or the occupants of the vehicles they collide with. For such harm not to occur in such an accident may certainly come as a pleasant surprise.
Responders were greeted with such a surprise after responding to calls about an accident between a semi-truck and a car on Interstate 35 in Waco. Oddly enough, it appears that the truck to the worst of the collision, being turned over on to its side and then sliding into the opposite lanes (any damages the car may have sustained were not reported). Its driver sustained minor injuries that required treatment at a local hospital. Amazingly, those traveling in the car were apparently unhurt. Both vehicles were reported to be traveling in the northbound lanes when they collided. It was not reported who was at fault.
While the lack of serious injuries in this case may certainly seem miraculous, that does not mean that all of those involved were able to walk away unscathed. Even when injuries do not occur in truck accidents, there may be the issue of vehicle damage to deal with. Repair costs in such cases can be extensive, particularly given that the cars involved are so much smaller than the vehicles that struck them. Those seeking compensation to cover the cost of repairs following such accidents may be wise to work with an attorney when doing so.
